NSTC SnowReady – Interschools Program
Snow Australia, in partnership with Perisher and Thredbo, is excited to announce the second year of our NSTC SnowReady Interschools Program. After the sucess of the program in 2025, we are launching a similar program for 2026.
This program is designed to support and develop our up-and-coming athletes by offering NSW, ACT and QLD Interschools participants access to a structured, one-day dry-land training experience at the National Snowsports Training Centre (NSTC) in Jindabyne. Attendees will benefit from expert coaching, tailored physical conditioning, and educational sessions that support their on-snow performance and overall development. This program encourages wider participation and helping more young people explore opportunities in snowsports beyond the Interschools competition.
To make the program as accessible and flexible as possible, seven training dates have been carefully scheduled to align with the Perisher and Thredbo club calendars. Sessions will not be held during the NSW school holidays or the Interschools Championships, reducing clashes with other commitments. One session will take place during the Queensland school holidays to better accommodate interstate participants.
Participants can register for their preferred training date from the available options.
Snow Australia, in partnership with Perisher and Thredbo, is expanding opportunities for our NSW, QLD and ACT Interschools participants, strengthening community connections, and fostering long-term participation and engagement in snowsports.
HOW TO REGISTER
The NSTC SnowReady – Interschools Program is a free program available to all participants who competed in the following 2025 Interschools Championships and intend to compete in the following 2026 Interschools Championships:
- 2025/2026 Northern NSW & QLD Championships
- 2025/2026 Sydney Championships
- 2025/2026 ACT & Southern NSW Championships
- 2025 NSW / ACT / QLD State Championships
This year, instead of an application process, there will be a direct registration for the day you would like to particpate. If your preferred date is not availble it is because it is full. You may reigster for a different day instead.
Registrations will remain open as long as space is available. Please note, numbers are limited each day due ot the nature of the activities at the NSTC.
ELIGIBLITY CRITERIA
- Must have a Snow Australia - Snow ID.
- Be aged between 8 and 15 years old.
- Must have competed in the following 2025 Interschools Championships and are planning to compete in the 2026 Interschools Championships:
o 2025/2026 Northern NSW & QLD Championships
o 2025/2026 Sydney Championships
o 2025/2026 ACT & Southern NSW Championships
o 2025 NSW / ACT / QLD State Championship
- Snow Australia Emerging Talent Program (ETP) athletes are ineligible to apply.
- Please indicate if you have enrolled in, or are considering enrolling in, a 2026 part-time or full-time program in any discipline at one of the following:
o Perisher Winter Sports Club
o Thredbo Mountain Academy
o Thredbo Ski Race Club
- Please note, you are not required to be enrolled in a club to apply for this program.
PROGRAM DETAILS
- Time: 9.00am - 4:00pm
- Age Group: 8 - 15 years
- Dates:
- Monday 29 June – QLD School holidays
- Thursday 2 July
- Thursday 30 July
- Thursday 6 August
- Thursday 13 August
- Thursday 27 August
Sessions are limited to 20 participants per session. If your prefered date is unavailable, it is booked out, so please select a different date. If you register and are then unable to make it, please let us know interschools@snow.org.au to be able to give someone else the opportunity to partipate.
If these sessions all fill up, we may offer another session in September in the week after National Interschools.
PROGRAM ACTIVITIES
- Development Airbag Sessions – Coached sessions focused on skill progression using airbag technology for safe learning.
- Acro Training – Trampoline and gymnastics-based sessions to improve aerial awareness and coordination.
- Gym and Physical Literacy – Sessions covering fundamental movement skills, body-weight exercises, recovery techniques, stretching, and warm-up/cool-down routines.
