2026 Slopestyle Competition Guide

The National Interschools Sport Development Committee (NISDC) in conjunction with National Park & Pipe Committee have made a number of small updates to 2026 Slopestyle Competition Guide. These changes will support a more streamlined event across both NSW and Victoria State Championships.

National Invite Qualification process: Invite numbers remain unchanged; however, qualification will now be based on a minimum score set by the Head Judge and respective State Interschools Event Management teams. This change addresses scoring variation between states and reinforces that rankings on the day, which is based on conditions, course difficulty, and judging ranges. Scores can vary significantly across events/states and are therefore less reliable when comparing performances between locations, feature levels, and judging environments.

Course format: A “steel pipe” has been added to better reflect variation in available box features.

Score updates: Scores have been shifted upward, with 1–20 representing a crash range, noting that exceptional runs with a crash may still score into the low 40s and exceed a basic completed run.
