Code of Conduct

Any reported incidents of such behavior will be investigated and may result in consequences, including the disqualification of participants and potential implications for resort access.

Rule Overview
Course inspection is not a practice run. It is to familiarise competitors with the setting of the course. Course inspection may be carried out by side slipping, a very slow snow plough or “falling leaf”, through the gates or as designated by the Chief of Course. Failure to comply with this rule may be a cause for disqualification. With marginal snow conditions, the availability of and/or the method of course inspection will be at the discretion of the Chief of Course.
The course will be open for inspection prior to the scheduled event time and will close 10 minutes before the event begins. Please note that these times are subject to change, as determined by the Resort Race Department and/or the Interschools Representative. The following must be observed during course inspection:
- Mandatory Helmet Use: Helmets must be worn at all times by anyone entering the course arena.
- Event Bib Requirement: Competitors must ensure that their competition bibs are visible. (Please refer to the discipline-specific rules for additional details on course inspection).
- Inspection Access: Team Managers and Coaches are permitted and are encouraged to inspect the course alongside competitors.
- Restricted Access: Competitors not on the start list and/or other individuals other than competitors, team managers, and coaches may be denied access by the start officials.
Inspection for Slopestyle and Moguls
The course is open for inspection and practice runs until 10 minutes prior to the start time of the competition. Each competitor will have at least one training run on the course.
All competitors must be present for the compulsory competitor briefing 10 minutes prior to the course inspection for Slopestyle events. If a competitor fails to attend this compulsory briefing, then the Chief of Course reserves the right to disqualify the competitor from the event.

Rule Overview
Skiers will go down the course making left and right turns, finish by going through the finish line at the bottom of the course. BOTH ski boots must pass ALL gates correctly. Provided that a ski is connected to a ski boot, it must always pass the gate-line correctly.
DSQs
- Missing a gate (going around it the wrong side)
- Loosing a ski
- Having a crash and stopping
- Outside assitance, getting helped up or retrieving an item
Stopping
If a competitor comes to a complete stop (e.g., after a fall) they must no longer continue. A complete stop is deemed to occur when the competitor is no longer moving downhill.
The competitor must exit to the side of the course as soon as possible to avoid interfering with thenext competitor’s run. The competitor is not permitted to hike or hop uphill toward a missed gate.
Provided that the competitor does not cross the finish line, they will record a DNF (Did Not Finish) for that run. If the competitor DOES cross the finish line, they may be disqualified (DSQ) for continuing.
A competitor must not be physically assisted during their run, unless for safety reasons. They will record a DSQ (disqualification) for that run if they are assisted.
Re- Run
If a competitor requests a rerun, it must be due to direct interference while on course eg. a competitor ahead of them or a course worker on course.
In such cases, the competitor must immediately stop, locate the nearest gate marshal, and inform them of the situation. They should then ski down the side of the course to report to the finish referee, who will determine whether a rerun will be granted.
Important: Competitors must not ski across the finish line, as doing so will result in a recorded time and invalidate any potential rerun request.
Helmet
All competitors must wear an approved snowsports helmet. Other protective wear is recommended but is not compulsory.
Clothing
Race suits are permitted in Divisions 1-3 Alpine GS events. Race suits are not permitted in Division 4, 5, and 6 events.
Competitors in Divisions 4, 5, and 6 must wear either a Snowsports jacket and pants, or tough-shell jacket and pants, when competing in their timed runs. Outerwear such as hoodies, long sleeve shirts, school jerseys and track-suit pants will NOT BE PERMITTED on-course when competing and/or training. This rule is in-line with NSW Department of Education School Snowsports clothing guidelines. Failure to wear the correct and approved race clothing will lead to removal from the event and the event result.
Competitors in Division 1-3 that are not wearing a Race Suit must wear either a Snowsports jacket and pants, or tough-shell jacket and pants, when competing in their timed runs. This rule aligns with NSW Department of Education School Snowsports clothing guidelines. It is the responsibility of the overtaking skier to pass without obstruction.
